A petrol tanker explosion in Nigeria kills six people

In the Nigerian metropolis of Lagos, a tanker truck carrying petrol exploded, killing at least six people.

Officials reported the tanker collided head-on with another truck, causing a fire that destroyed both trucks.

One of the victims of the Sunday evening event was a motorbike rider caught in the flames.

In recent years, Nigeria has experienced numerous fatal traffic accidents and explosions involving fuel tankers.

Poor roads, a disrespect for traffic norms, and poor car maintenance are the leading causes of road accidents in Nigeria.
