According to information obtained by Koenza News, the Member of Parliament for Jomoro, Dorcas Affo-Toffey, is being held by the police in Manet, Accra.
On Sunday afternoon, the MP was detained with her son, who is currently on trial in court.
According to reports, Jomoro MP Dorcas Affo-personal Toffey’s driver and her son were arrested for speeding and hindering an officer from executing his duties.
When police officers attempted to stop the MP’s driver for driving in the middle of the road with the vehicle’s siren on, he allegedly refused to stop.
When the officers sought to stop them, the MP who was in the car at the time told the driver not to stop.
When the lawmaker’s four-wheel vehicle was pursued and forced to stop, the passenger in the front seat allegedly verbally attacked the arresting officer and prevented him from executing his job.
They were then apprehended and transferred to the Manet police station, where they are still being held.
